years where struggle and just representing people who wanted to make the city much more equality bent was where i felt. and i feel today that if mayor moscone and harvey milk were here, they'd be pretty proud of what we've been able to accomplish in those years. seeing how mayor brown became mayor and my lucky charm of being now the first asian mayor of the city, understanding -- thank you. security expert fran townsend about all of this. >>> hours leading up to a kansas city chiefs player's murder/suicide. jovan belcher was out partying with another woman the night before he shot his girlfriend, kasandra perkins. belcher and oert woman became separated. he wound up returning to her apartment complex. when he couldn't find her, he crashed at her neighbor's house and the neighbor says belcher was drunk. he returned home the next morning, several hours after perkins got back from a night out. the couple argued and belcher killed perkins, later killing himself. >> we will cherish the wonderful memories we have of jovan and pray that those memories will bring us peace as we grapple to understand the unpredictable and tragic ending of his life and the life of kasandra perkins. >> kasandra perkins released a statement saying, quote, we appreciate the outpouring of love and concern for our kasandra "kasi" perkins. our hearts are truly broken for kasi. she was a beloved daughter, granddaughter, sister, cousin, mother and friend. please keep us in your hearts and prayers as well

to the foundation's intent to sue the city for its city seal which contained a cross and a billboard that included elements of that city seal that was in a city park. mr. speaker, this is an outrage. the seal and sign are harming no one. they are widely embringsed by the citizens of bulla kansas. it contains the words values and progressive ideas. unfortunately in this case progressive ideas are making a war on traditional values and it's high time for that to stop. some will claim the first amendment to the constitution requires the cross be removed from this seal and sign. that's hogwash. the first amendment begins with the words congress shall make no law prohibiting the free exercise thereof. in this instance congress made no law. for that reason alone the first amendment does not apply. furthermore, it cannot be set that this simple seal in any way is an establishment of religion. there is no officially supported secretary or denomination in the manner, this is not in any way an endorsement of any particular religion or any religious denomination. in short the first amendment as originally wr

debate is squarely back in the spotlight tonight after the murder/suicide by nfl player in kansas city, second amendment instead of blaming the sick people who use them. republicans have responded to a fiscal cliff counter offer to president obama. eamon javers joins us now from washington with all the details. good evening. >> reporter: good evening. leapt me walk you through the specifics or at least what specifics we have so far from this boehner counter offer and you can see where it falls short from the white house's perspective right in the top line take a look at the details here. boehner and the other house republicans are asking for $800 billion in new tax reform revenue. that's short of the $1.6 trillion that the president would like to see there. also health savings of $600 billion. mandatory savings of $300 billion. revisions of cpa of 200 billion. other discretionary saving 300 billion. they say net savings is $2.2 trillion all told. the white house says this plan is not balanced, and interestingly there's a little side skirmish here between the speaker of the house john b
